Since the 1930s,
The Vic has been
the anchor of
Thomas and Victoria,
in St Paul's Frogtown neighborhood.
Originally a grocery store,
it was opened as a bar by
Vince Gangl
in the mid 1930s.
A history of owners continued to operate it
throughout the years
and it was,
and remains, a favorite neighborhood stop.
Owners through the years.....

A Frogtown Gem!. This is the bar to visit if you're looking for a neighboorhood atmosphere and honest drink prices. It brings back memories of what bars used to be....no overbearing background noise, 20 somethings who think they know how to drink, and absolutley no trouble. I bet you can't name another bar in St.Paul that serves Pigs Eye, has a bumper pool table, always offers a few varities of scotch and offers the best booya two times a year! February 10, 2011
This bar is that bar your lived your life at during college. You know-that one. You can put a few quarters in the juke and listen to some good old 70s pop metal or 60s motown hits. You can play bumper pool. You can buy a Grain Belt....this is truely a killer place. - michael kohout,
It ain't fancy...
This is the kind of place where
people like to stop and have a couple drinks (or more) and unwind,
socialize, and enjoy good company. We are all regular folks
at "The Vic". The music usually is not so loud you cannot talk with
people.... That suits me just fine. If you are in the mood for a
very low key and friendly drinking joint stop in.

The Way A Bar Is Supposed To Be. Billy's Vic is the all time greatest neighborhood corner bar. They've got it all from booya to outdoor winter bocce ball. The beer is cheap and the jukebox is always rockin'. Great place to meet the gang. JoeKapp11
